About the Rink

The Copeland Park Community Alliance has operated a free outdoor skating rink in Greenlawn Park for over a decade. Each winter, a team of dedicated volunteers floods, maintains, and monitors the rink so that neighbors of all ages can enjoy skating right in the neighborhood.

What to Expect

  • Free admission — open to everyone in the community
  • Maintained ice surface — flooded regularly to keep conditions good
  • Family-friendly — popular with kids learning to skate and adults looking for a fun outing

How Volunteers Help

We need help with:

Evening and weekend flooding usually at 8pm (less than 60 minutes depending on numbers)

  • Snow clearing after snowfalls, before flooding
  • General upkeep — checking ice conditions and reporting issues

No experience required — we’ll show you the ropes. Even one or two shifts a season makes a big difference!

Conditions & Closures

Ice conditions depend on the weather. The rink is closed when temperatures rise above freezing or when ice is unsafe.
